This Giving Tuesday, you can make a child’s dream of summer camp come true!
With your help, we’re aiming to raise $15,000 this Giving Tuesday to give kids, youth, and young adults with physical disabilities 50 days filled with adventure, friendship, and independence at Easter Seals Ontario’s accessible camps. Every dollar brings us one step closer to making a lasting difference in the lives of deserving young people, eager to experience the freedom and joy only Easter Seals camp can provide.
Why is Easter Seals camp important?
For kids, youth, and young adults with physical disabilities, the opportunity to participate in activities like camping, sports, and adventure isn’t easy to find. Easter Seals camps – Camp Merrywood and Camp Woodeden – offer the rare gift of accessible and inclusive experiences, specially tailored for kids, youth, and young adults with physical disabilities. At camp, barriers disappear and campers can embrace new challenges, build confidence, and discover what they are truly capable of achieving.
Camp: The Highlight of Their Year
Easter Seals kids look forward to camp all year, as its often the only place they get to stay overnight away from home while receiving the specialized care they need. At camp, they’re surrounded by peers who share similar experiences. Together they build lifelong friendships and social skills in a safe, empowering environment. For many, it’s a truly life-changing experience.
Here’s What Your Giving Tuesday Gift Will Make Possible:
High ropes course – Imagine helping a child conquer fears 50 feet in the air on one of North America’s largest wheelchair-accessible high ropes courses at Camp Woodeden. Your gift gives them the thrill of achievement.
Sailing – With your support, kids with limited motor skills can set sail in specially designed sailboats, feeling the independence and excitement of gliding across the water.
Archery – Your generosity allows campers to take aim with a bow and arrow, using adaptive equipment that lets them experience the satisfaction of shooting on their own.
Swimming – You’ll help campers experience the freedom and weightlessness of the water, one of Camp Merrywood’s most beloved activities, where they can swim with friends in a fully accessible environment.
Sledge Hockey – There’s nothing like the thrill of scoring a goal! With your help, kids can lead their teams on the sledge hockey rink, feeling the exhilaration of teamwork and victory.
Rock climbing – Your gift helps kids reach new heights – literally! Our indoor rock-climbing wall is accessible, letting campers experience the joy of rock climbing in a safe, supportive way.
