Steve Hinder has been a loyal and dedicated volunteer as well as supporter of Easter Seals Ontario for several years. Steve has been engaged in many different facets of the organization from event volunteer, participant and emcee, to providing guidance and suggestions as well as being an overall advocate. His kind heart, his passion for helping and his drive to make his community a better place make him an amazing champion for our organization.
Steve danced in our first annual Dancing with Easter Seals Stars in Aurora/Newmarket. Not only was he able to let go and kick up his heels for us, but since then, he has helped this event grow in so many ways. As part of the planning committee, he was able to help evolve the event to keep it moving forward and successful, recruit new dancers, and he also emceed the event many times. We were also very fortunate to have Steve support us with our participation in the local country gala, the Magna Hoedown. The Hoedown raises funds annually for local charities that meet their criteria. Easter Seals was fortunate to be a recipient of funds from this event.
Steve’s generosity doesn’t stop at Easter Seals. He has been a Board Member of the Southlake Regional Health Centre, a Board of Governors Member for Character Community Alumni, a Board Member for the Belinda Stronach Foundation, a Board Member of the Newmarket Chamber of Commerce, as well as being a strong advocate for Victims Services. Steve also enjoyed a long career with the York Regional Police Department that lead him into working as a coordinator at the Neighbourhood Network and the Manager of Community Relations at Magna International.
Clearly Steve has always had embedded in him the desire to give back – to do things to help make life and situations better for those in need. Easter Seals is thrilled and proud to have someone like Steve Hinder affiliated with us and we thank him greatly for all of his contributions.
