Join us for a boat parade in support of kids with physical disabilities on Saturday, July 24, 2021. This year we will be replacing the traditional post-parade picnic with a concert on the water at Hidden Valley Campground featuring local band, R-Banned.

 

 

 

 

R-Banned will be performing classic rock and country from a stage set up at Hidden Valley Campground. Formed in late 2007, R-Banned came from a tight-knit group of friends and developed into a team of seven like-minded individuals, all sharing a passion for music. Their main focus is on entertainment and enjoyment, both for the band and for the audience. They continue to explore and expand their musical horizons playing a mix of popular classic rock and country. The band has played several times at Buck Lake, most recently in 2019 from the top of the red boathouse by the boat launch. It was amazing! We are excited to have R-Banned play again and help support Easter Seals campers and Camp Merrywood.

Participants will be asked to meet near the culvert on the south branch around 11:30 a.m.  The boat parade will launch from this location and continue around the lake and head down to Hidden Valley to enjoy some great music. To make this year’s event extra festive, we are encouraging everyone to decorate their boats for the parade. So, get creative, pack a lunch and beverages and come out and enjoy a great concert on the lake.

To comply with local public health protocol to prevent the spread of COVID-19, participants are discouraged from arriving by car. Some docking will be available, to use the washroom facilities and return to your boat. For those who would like to attend by kayak or canoe, some launch sites will be available off Narrows Lane. If you will require access to these launch sites, please contact bucklakeassoc@gmail.com for more details about parking and launch locations.

The Buck Lake Association donates 100% of all funds raised to Easter Seals Send a Kid to Camp Campaign, giving kids the opportunity to boat, swim and fish at Easter Seals Ontario’s fully accessible Camp Merrywood.
