The cool weather is moving in, but don’t put away your bright colours yet! We’ve got a fun indoor activity that requires your brilliant blues, radiant reds, glistening greens and everything in between.
This fall, Easter Seals Ontario is running a brand new contest for Easter Seals kids. We know the talent and creativity among the children and youth we serve is immense, and we want to showcase it. The artwork selected from this contest will be featured on our official 2021 Seals that will be distributed across the province. Sending Seals in our spring direct mail campaign has been an Easter Seals tradition since 1947. Your artwork could be a part of Easter Seals history!
To take part in the contest all you need is something (anything!) to draw, colour or create with, and a little imagination. There are two ways you can participate:
- Decorate an Easter egg: Colour/paint/digitally design an egg in any way that you choose! You can use the egg outline provided or create your own. Download the egg template here: Egg_Shape_Template_ESO_Colouring_Contest
- Create an original design: Get creative and show us what you can dream up! Here are some suggested themes: spring baby animal (puppy, kitten, chicken, bunny, etc.), spring flowers, or a self-portrait (“This is Me” or “This is My Family”).
There’s no need to choose! Participants can submit multiple pieces of artwork. All artwork must be created on an 8.5”x11” sheet of paper or digital canvas. Try to create large and clear designs featuring only one to two items.
In order to give the artwork the spotlight it deserves, the selected pieces will be featured in our spring direct mail campaign as well as various other Easter Seals communications pieces. With this in mind, please note that all participants must consent to be featured along with an image of themselves in Easter Seals communications should their artwork be selected.
The contest deadline is November 1, 2020. You can submit your artwork by mail (be sure to keep it flat) or submit a photo of your artwork by email to ktrumbley@easterseals.org. Keep your original artwork on hand if you are submitting a photo by email.
