Easter Seals Scholarships

Easter Seals Ontario manages the following scholarship funds:

Beatrice Drinnan Spence Scholarship Fund
Open to all youth and young adults with physical disabilities

Rose Brodie Provincial Ambassador Scholarship Fund
Open to all former Provincial Ambassadors (Timmy/Tammy)

Frank Henry Ralph Pounsett Scholarship Fund
Open to all youth and young adults with physical disabilities

Hira Scholarship Fund
Open to all youth and young adults with physical disabilities attending university.

TD Scholarship for Easter Seals Youth
Open to all youth and young adults with physical disabilities attending college or university. Funds are available for tuition and additional expenses.

Truelove Dell Scholarship Fund
Available to the Easter Seals youth demonstrating outstanding Community Service within the Greater Toronto Area

Sal Iacono Family Bursary Endowment Fund
Available to youth and young adults who are pursuing their post secondary education at Algonquin College.

Applications for 2013 -2014 school year will be accepted no later than May 3, 2013

Other Scholarships

Scholarship applications are usually due in the early spring of the year in which the student is commencing their studies in September. Contact the individual scholarship organizations to obtain the application criteria and deadline submission dates.

In addition to the scholarships listed below, contact the university or community college directly to obtain information of other scholarships that might be available.

Aird Scholarship
Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities. The scholarship is intended to help students with physical disabilities to study full time at a recognized Ontario postsecondary institution.

AUCC Scholarship for Students with Disabilities
For undergraduate studies in any field of study at any Canadian degree granting institution or community college. Value: $5,000.

Copnick-Hillard Scholarship (Scholarship for Students with Disabilities)
Applicants must be Canadian students with severe mobility impairment resulting from neurological disease or trauma. Applicants must demonstrate outstanding initiative and scholastic achievement.

Dr. E. Bruce Hendrick Scholarship Program
The program was established to encourage and support students with spina bifida and or hydrocephalus to develop independence and responsibility for their own future educational directions and to assist students to pursue higher education with the ultimate goal of obtaining a degree or graduate certificate or diploma. Value: will be determined on an annual basis.

Mattinson Endowment Fund Scholarship for Disabled Students
For undergraduate studies in a degree granting program. Value: $2,500

Maurice Izzard Memorial Award
For a student with a physical disability who plans to pursue post secondary education at University, College or any other centre of post secondary education in the fall. Value: $500

Whipper “Billy” Watson Education Bursary
The bursary has been established to assist students with physical disabilities in full time study at an Ontario College of Arts and Technology. Bursaries are granted each year to one male and one female applicant who demonstrate potential for studies at the Community College level. Value: $2,000
