Thousands participate in Easter Seals Run Walkathon founded by Joe Persechini
Newmarket, ON, May 28, 2004—Thousands of participants will gather at Upper Canada Mall in Newmarket this Sunday, May 30 for the Easter Seals Run Walkathon founded by Joe Persechini. Over 40 corporate teams and 50 schools will be participating in the Run Walkathon in support of kids with physical disabilities. Local Easter Seals families and Provincial Ambassadors will talk to participants about how the funds raised from the Run Walkathon assist their families. It its 27 years, the Run Walkathon has raised $2.8 million for Easter Seals kids.

For over 80 years The Easter Seal Society, Ontario has been dedicated to helping kids with physical disabilities succeed. Money raised goes towards funding essential equipment such as walkers, wheelchairs, and communications devices, providing summer camping experiences at Easter Seals camps and funding of Recreational Choices such as day camps, swimming and art classes.
