This summer, Joey Carson, Ira Carson and Max Tabord-Meehan cycled 8,000 km across Canada from coast to coast to raise funds for Easter Seals Ontario. All three team members are former Easter Seals camp counsellors and sailing instructors who share a passion for the open water and the dream to provide more opportunities for kids to sail. Their goal was to raise one dollar for each kilometre travelled for the purchase of a new, fully accessible sail craft for Easter Seals Camp Merrywood, located near Perth, Ontario, where sailing is a popular activity. The team began their journey on May 15, 2012 in Victoria, B.C., and finished on August 15, 2012. The team successfully raised $8,502, exceeding their goal!
